Durga Puja Vibes Land in Hinjewadi This 2026

Hinjewadi is known for being a center for professional advancement. Families live in its residential sections, schools, cafés, and expanding neighborhoods, while many professionals enter its IT campuses every morning. People are from Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, smaller towns, and isolated states. Many come in search of work and eventually choose to settle down here.

However, when residents start sharing more than just an address, a neighborhood turns into a community. The Oitijhyo Sarbojonin Cultural Association's name, which means "heritage," symbolizes a dedication to preserving culture while making it relevant to a new generation.

Oitijhyo will hold its inaugural Sharodiya Durgotsav in Hinjewadi Phase 2 from October 16–21, 2026. The celebration is more than just a festival; its goal is to establish a cultural home that is shaped by locals, for locals, and accessible to everybody.

From Living Neighborhood to IT Destination

Since the construction of Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park in the middle of the 1990s, Hinjewadi has undergone substantial change. With residential societies, educational institutions, retail establishments, and the infrastructure of a developing township, the area has developed into a significant IT hub.

Families are now raising children here, professionals are buying homes, and people from many cultures and geographical areas live in the same neighborhoods. It is anticipated that infrastructure like PMRDA's Metro Line 3, which will link Maan-Hinjewadi with Shivajinagar, will improve the region's ties to Pune.

However, infrastructure by itself cannot foster a sense of community. When neighbors get to know one another, belonging starts.

The Significance of Durga Puja

Durga Puja is more than just a religious ceremony. Art, craftsmanship, music, performance, cuisine, and community involvement are all combined in its customs. The celebration has a particularly strong sense of homecoming among Bengalis who live outside of Bengal.

Memories that span generations are created by the sound of dhaak, the first sight of Maa Durga, dhuno, anjali, bhog, cultural acts, and well-known songs.

These customs can also serve as a link between communities in a multicultural neighborhood like Hinjewadi. Therefore, Oitijhyo wants to establish an environment where people actively engage in festivals rather than just attending them.

A Sarbojonin Festivity

Sarbojonin means "for everyone," and Oitijhyo is based on this idea.

The group is not meant to be a Bengali-only organization. Through the Puja, cultural events, food, music, art, children's activities, volunteering, or just by getting to know their neighbors, residents of all languages, regions, and generations are welcome to join.

Oitijhyo is not being developed in contrast to current festivities. Rather, it aims to include a resident-led platform based on shared responsibility, engagement, transparency, and cultural continuity.

Nari Shakti at the Centre

Women’s leadership is another defining element of the initiative. Through its broader vision of 51 Nari Shakti, Oitijhyo aims to recognise women whose strength takes many forms, from entrepreneurs and professionals to homemakers, teachers, caregivers, students and artists.

Women are positioned not merely as supporters but as participants in leadership, planning, financial decisions, creative direction and execution.

Nari Shakti is therefore intended to be visible responsibility, not an ornamental theme.

Building Beyond the Festival

Oitijhyo believes that meaningful communities grow through participation. Residents can contribute by volunteering, helping with decorations, performing, teaching children, welcoming senior citizens, supporting crowd management, or sharing their skills and traditions.

The vision also goes beyond the Puja. Future opportunities may include music, literature, art, social service, environmental initiatives, health awareness, and support for local talent. Hinjewadi has built companies, careers, and homes at impressive speed.

Through its first Sharodiya Durgotsav, Oitijhyo hopes to help build what comes next: connection, belonging, and a community created together.
