Hinjewadi's Bengali Community Launches Durga Puja 2026

Every Durga Puja speaks about Shakti—strength, courage, resilience and the power to create change. This year, Oitijhyo Sarbojonin is bringing that idea closer to the community through its 51 Nari Shakti initiative, celebrating the stories of 51 women from Hinjawadi, Maan, Marunji and nearby communities.

The initiative is based on a simple belief: meaningful stories do not belong only to famous personalities. The woman who manages a home, builds a career, teaches children, supports her family, starts a business, returns to work or begins again after a difficult chapter can also represent Shakti in powerful ways.

Why 51 Women?

The 51 Nari Shakti initiative by Oitijhyo Sarbojonin offers a platform to recognise different forms of strength within the local community. Each woman may have a different journey, but her story can reflect courage, leadership, compassion, creativity, perseverance or resilience.

One woman may be an entrepreneur balancing work and family. Another may be a teacher, student, caregiver, artist or homemaker. There may also be senior women who have spent decades supporting their families and communities, as well as younger women discovering their confidence and direction.

Bringing these stories together creates a more personal picture of contemporary womanhood in Hinjawadi and its neighbouring communities.

More Than Celebrities and Professional Achievements

What makes the initiative particularly community-focused is that Oitijhyo Sarbojonin is not limiting recognition to celebrities, public figures or senior professionals.

The most deserving story could belong to someone whose name is not widely known.

It could be the neighbour who quietly helps others, a mother who rebuilt her life after a setback, a teacher who has shaped generations of students, a caregiver supporting her family, or a woman who found the confidence to start something new.

This approach brings the idea of Shakti into everyday life. Durga Puja celebrates the Goddess as a symbol of strength, but the festival can also encourage communities to notice and appreciate the strength present around them.

Creating a Record of the Community

For Oitijhyo Sarbojonin, storytelling can become another way of preserving community memory. Documenting the experiences of women from Hinjawadi and nearby areas can help create a record of the people who contribute to the character and growth of the neighbourhood.

The initiative also encourages a broader understanding of recognition. Success is not always measured by a designation, award or public achievement. Sometimes it is reflected in perseverance, responsibility, kindness, leadership or the courage to begin again.

Through 51 Nari Shakti, these everyday experiences can become part of the Durga Puja conversation—giving women a chance to be heard, recognised and remembered.

Nominate a Woman Whose Story Deserves to Be Heard

Know a woman from Hinjawadi or a nearby community whose story reflects courage, resilience, leadership, creativity or everyday strength?

Nominate your mother, sister, colleague, neighbour, teacher, friend—or yourself for Oitijhyo Sarbojonin’s 51 Nari Shakti initiative.

Because the most inspiring story does not always belong to someone famous. Sometimes, it is the story of the woman living right next door.
